OUR STORY

Family-Owned Ranch Since 1982

Barry and Marion embarked on their ranching journey in 1982, with their eldest child just a year old. Upon acquiring the ranch, they were greeted with root bound land, neglected log buildings, and an absence of animals. Despite the challenges, they dedicated themselves to nurturing both their growing family and the land they called home. As they worked tirelessly to transform the ranch into a thriving homestead, Barry often found himself working off ranch during weekdays and coming home on weekends to the demands of ranch life, while Marion stayed and managed their four children, the household, as well as the stock chores. With a commitment to education and self-reliance, they chose to homeschool their children, instilling in them independence and a deep appreciation for the ranching way of life. Nestled 1.5 hours drive away from the nearest town, their ranch became not just a home, but a sanctuary where they raised their family amidst the beauty and challenges of rural life.

FREE RANGE

Our cows are born and raised on 68,000+ acres of open range and have access to the 11 kilometer long Tatelkuz Lake, along with several rivers.

GRASS FED

Our cows graze freely on our range, enjoying fresh grass through the warmer months. Through the winter they enjoy hay that we produce on our fields.

GRAIN + GRASS FINISHED

One month before harvesting, while continuing to feed on our hay, we feed a mixture of oats, corn, barley and beet pulp. The steers love it, and this mixture produces the tender, flavorful beef that we all love.

HEREFORD ANGUS CROSS

Our herd is a Hereford-Angus Cross, who are bred with Angus bulls, making our beef at minimum 3/4 Angus. This combination creates a meat that is tender, flavorful, and well marbled.
